NIIN Health Alliance
A low-risk pathway to digital transformation across health and aged care.
The NIIN Health Alliance is a strategic collaboration between universities, industry, government, and health leaders working together to advance digital innovation in health and aged care.
Anchored by Cisco and coordinated through the Cisco–RMIT Health Transformation Lab, the alliance brings together health-focused labs, research chairs, innovation centres, and cross-sector partners to support practical innovation, workforce development, and system-wide collaboration. It is designed to provide a low-risk pathway for health agencies, hospital operators, and partners to engage in digital transformation, prototyping, and applied innovation.
Its focus includes building collective health innovation capacity, creating critical mass around shared health priorities, and fostering a strong forum for idea exchange across the health ecosystem. Through this collaborative model, the alliance helps connect academic research, industry capability, and health system needs to deliver practical impact across healthcare.

Advisory Committee
The NIIN Health Alliance Advisory Committee helps guide the alliance's strategic direction and support its impact across research, innovation, and health system collaboration.
By delivering initiatives across research, health innovation, workforce capability, and cross-sector engagement, the NIIN Health Alliance is helping shape a stronger, more connected digital health ecosystem in Australia.

Zero Trust Security for Healthcare
Tabled as a 2025 priority project by Professor Trish Williams, this research responds to the increasing vulnerability of interconnected healthcare environments by developing a Zero Trust cybersecurity blueprint tailored for healthcare settings.
Exploring Automation Opportunities in Nursing
Presented as a 2025 priority project by Associate Professor Alison Craswell, this work examines how digital automation can support nursing and older adult care in acute and aged care settings — reducing inefficiencies and freeing up time for patient care.
Zero Trust Security for Healthcare
Led by Prof. Trish Williams at Flinders University, this project develops a Zero Trust cybersecurity blueprint tailored to healthcare environments, where protecting interconnected systems and sensitive data is especially critical.
Digital Front Door Proof-of-Value / Proof-of-Concept Project
ArchiTech Network and Communications Solutions began scoping a project around an AI-powered Digital Front Door solution. The project explores how agentic AI assistants and intelligent automation could improve patient and clinician experience, including triage, diagnostics, care coordination, and routine tasks.
Mapping Technologies and Innovation Priorities in Clinical Care of Older Adults
Led by Associate Professor Alison Craswell, this study focuses on digital health adoption in older adult care and seeks evidence for better infrastructure, workforce development, co-design, and digital system integration in everyday care practice.
Tech in Sight: Cyber Security Devices in MedTech
Held in June 2025, this executive roundtable at Innovation Central Adelaide explored cybersecurity issues in Australia's MedTech sector, including compliance, standards, lifecycle maintenance, accountability, design, and future directions.
